A Bill entitled the Film Industry Bill, 1970, was introduced in the House by me on 21st July, 1970. The purpose of the Bill is to provide for the establishment of a board to be known as An Bord Scannán to assist and encourage the development of a film industry in the State.
With regard to the second part of the question the position is that owing to the crowded legislative programme before the House it has not yet been found possible to take the Second Stage of the Bill.
