Vol. 254 No. 14

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing Needs Film.

129.

asked the Minister for Local Government if a film dealing with the solution of housing needs has been commissioned by his Department in conjunction with an independent body for showing to developing African nations.

No such film has been commissioned by my Department.

Can the Minister say if he has any association with any independent body to make a film showing the solution to housing problems and how they should be tackled, to be shown to under-developed countries?

Surely the Deputy is not suggesting we should tell anybody how to solve housing problems.

The answer is "No".

The Minister may not have commissioned such a film but is he working with any independent body?

The question relates to developing African nations and the answer to that query is "No".

Has a film been commissioned from an independent body to be shown in any country?

I have answered the question the Deputy asked.

If there is such a film it should be shown to the Department of Local Government.
