Vol. 255 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Free School Books.

21.

asked the Minister for Education the amount of money allocated for free books for the Limerick area; and if it is expected that this amount will be sufficient to meet the demand.

It is not possible to state the amount of money that will be allocated to any school in respect of the provision of free books for necessitous pupils for the 1971-72 school year until the requirements of schools have been made know to my Department.

However, while the funds available to me are not unlimited, I am satisfied that they will be sufficient to meet all cases of genuine hardship.
