Vol. 255 No. 7

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Laois School.

45.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware of the difficulty in securing a water supply for Ratheniska national school, Portlaoise; and that every effort has been made by the parent/manager/ teacher association in order to secure a supply; and if steps will now be taken to ensure that a satisfactory water supply will be installed in the school before September next.

A grant has been sanctioned by my Department towards the cost of installing water-flushed sanitation in Ratheniska national school. The provision of the necessary water supply is a local matter. If an adequate and suitable water supply for the school is provided from any local source my Department will be prepared to contribute by way of grant towards the cost.
