asked the Minister for Health if he will state in respect of each of the years 1968, 1969 and 1970 the maternity mortality rate in (a) this country and (b) the Dublin area.

As the information requested by the Deputy is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, a Cheann Comhairle, with your permission, to circulate it with the Official Report.

Following is the statement:

The peri-natal death rates per 1,000 live and still births in this country were as follows:—
