Vol. 255 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Curragh Road Improvement.

94.

asked the Minister for Local Government if the Kildare County Council will as a matter of priority widen, improve and fence the main road through the Curragh, as that road is now regarded as the most dangerous stretch of the Cork-Dublin road.

No proposals have been submitted to my Department by Kildare County Council for the improvement of the section of road referred to. While the road through the Curragh may be regarded as deficient in some respects, a recent study of accident locations on the principal inter-urban roads showed that the accident density on this section was not above average.
