Vol. 255 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Garda Self-defence Training.

113.

asked the Minister for Justice what training the Garda Síochána are given in self-defence; how many instructors are qualified to give such instruction; and if he is satisfied that such instruction is adequate.

A substantial portion of Garda training in the training centre in Templemore is concerned with self-defence. There are two qualified instructors at the centre. The Garda authorities are satisfied that the training given and the number of instructors are adequate.
