asked the Minister for Education the criteria used by him in deciding the number of months each year in which schools are left unused.

The rules and programmes for schools prescribe that pupils must receive instruction for a certain minimum number of days per annum; 190 days in the case of primary schools and 180 days for post-primary schools.
