Vol. 255 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Creamery Managers' Dispute.

51.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if, in view of the industrial dispute between the ITGWU and the Dairy Disposal Board concerning the conditions of employment of creamery managers in Counties Cork, Clare and Kerry, he is satisfied that the regulations under the Dairy Produce Act, 1924, concerning butter production, skim returns, quality tests, etc., are being observed in the partly manned stations.

Because of the strike of some of the creamery managers employed by the Dairy Disposal Company, it is not feasible to have certain functions of the managerial staff carried out in present circumstances at some of the company's creameries. If normal procedures had to be fully observed at the creameries affected by the strike, the milk would have to be left on the hands of the producers supplying those premises.
