Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Distributive Trades.

4.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state in respect of the latest year for which figures are available (a) the turnover in the distributive trades and (b) the turnover in stores not wholly Irish owned.

The estimated total turnover for retail establishments in the year 1970 was £675 million. A corresponding estimate for the turnover of wholesale establishments in 1968, the latest year for which data for the wholesale trade are available, is £470 million. Separate information relating to the turnover of outlets not wholly Irish owned is not available.
