Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Waterford Estates.

41.

asked the Minister for Lands the number and acreage of holdings in County Waterford held by the Land Commission; the number and acreage of estates sub-divided by the Land Commission in County Waterford in 1969 and 1970; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There are, at present, 13 estates, aggregating 1,215 acres, in the possession of the Land Commission in County Waterford. Some 268 acres, embracing five estates, were allocated in the county in the year ending 31st March, 1969; 249 acres, on five estates, in the year ending 31st March, 1970, and 124 acres, on six estates, in the year ending 31st March, 1971. The necessary inquiries on the ground, preliminary to the allotment of lands on hands, are being pushed forward as rapidly as circumstances permit.

Can the Minister say if the estates have been subdivided and if the allottees have taken possession of them?
