I presume that the Deputy is referring to the amount of income tax and sur-tax relief for owner-occupiers in respect of mortgage interest.
I would invite his attention to the reply given to a similar question by Deputy Desmond on 1st June, 1971. It can be taken that the figure requested by the Deputy does not differ significantly from the figure of £1.6 million quoted in that reply.
