asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he will state (a) what zone around the Irish coast is at present exclusively reserved for Irish fishermen; (b) in what zone fishing is permitted to foreign interests; and (c) the name of such foreign interests.

(a) The sea area around our coast which is at present reserved exclusively for Irish sea fishing boats is that which lies inside a line six nautical miles seaward of the baseline of our territorial sea; (b) in the six to 12 miles zone of our exclusive fishery limits the fishing vessels of six countries are permitted to fish in specified parts of the zone for specified species of fish; (c) these countries are Belgium, Federal Republic of Germany, France, Netherlands, Spain and United Kingdom.
