Vol. 256 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tax on Books.

20.

asked the Minister for Finance the amount of turnover tax and wholesale tax collected on books in the last financial year.

Books are not liable to wholesale tax. Turnover tax is payable monthly in one sum by registered persons on their total receipts from the sales of taxable goods to unregistered persons. A breakdown of the amounts paid by reference to particular commodities is not required; and the amount of tax collected from books is not available.
