Vol. 256 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Clare Estates.

25.

asked the Minister for Lands, if it is intended to divide the Lyons estate, Toonagh, Tulla, County Clare, this year.

26.

asked the Minister for Lands if it is intended to divide the Burke estate, Woodfield, Broadford, County Clare, this year.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 25 and 26 together.

A good deal of the necessary inquiries on the ground in connection with division of the portion of the Burke estate still on hands, 252 acres, have been completed and I am hopeful that re-sale plans will be approved so as to permit allocation of the lands, or a substantial portion of them, next spring. The house division of the estate, consisting of the residence and 35 acres, has already been sold by public auction.

It is not possible, just now, to forecast when allotment of the 66-acre Lyons estate will be effected but I understand that the aim is to include it in the following year's allocation programme.
