Vol. 256 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

65.

asked the Minister for Local Government the reason for the delay in granting sanction for the group water scheme at Cuilleagh South, Abbeyknockmoy, Tuam, County Galway.

There has been no avoidable delay in dealing with this scheme, the design for which has been approved. Quotations received by the group for the necessary materials, main laying, et cetera, are being examined in order to determine firm costings.

66.

asked the Minister for Local Government what proposal he has received in connection with the Ballinlough-Kilteely group water scheme, County Limerick.

A proposal has been received for a water scheme to serve two houses in the Ballinlough-Kilteely area. A suitable source for the supply is being sought.

67.

asked the Minister for Local Government if sanction has been given to Leitrim County Council to proceed with the sewerage scheme at Dromahair.

Tenders for this scheme were recently submitted to my Department and are at present under examination.

68.

asked the Minister for Local Government when sanction is likely to be issued for the group water scheme for Balkinstown, Nurney, County Kildare.

The design of this scheme is in order subject to the use of increased pipe sizes. Before a decision can be reached on the scheme, however, it will be necessary for the Department to examine the effect of the substantial additional cost involved in providing the increased pipe sizes.
