Vol. 257 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - School Heating System.

62.

asked the Minister for Education the reason for the failure in the heating system at a school (name supplied) which has resulted in loss of school days for the pupils and is causing grave concern among the parents.

63.

asked the Minister for Education whether he is aware that students at a national school (name supplied) have been losing irrecoverable tuition because of heating difficulties in the school; and if he will arrange to have this position corrected.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 62 and 63 together. The arrangements for the heating of national schools are matters for the school manager in each case. I understand that in the case referred to by the Deputies there was a delay in the delivery of fuel for the heating system. An inspector of my Department has been requested to investigate the matter.
