Vol. 257 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water Pollution.

26.

asked the Minister for Health if he has any proposals for setting up the special committee to deal with pollution of coastal and inland waters as recommended in the report of the Food and Hygiene Advisory Committee.

The comments of Government Departments and other interested parties have been sought on the recommendations in the Report of the Food Hygiene Advisory Committee. I shall take these into consideration in deciding what action is necessary in connection with the committee's recommendations.

The Deputy might wish to note that under the auspices of the Department of Local Government an inter-departmental working group on air and water pollution were established in December, 1970, and I understand that the group hope to produce a report shortly.
