Vol. 257 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Tipperary Schools.

82.

asked the Minister for Finance the present position in respect of the proposed new prefabricated school at Knockanore, County Tipperary with which Glendine and Watermoy schools are being amalgamated.

Tenders were invited by the manager for the erection of prefabricated classrooms at Knockanore national school, County Waterford and the execution of improvement works to the existing building but the result was unsatisfactory. In the circumstances it is necessary to re-invite tenders and arrangements are being made to have this done as soon as possible.

83.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will outline the progress which has been made towards the erection of a new primary school at Tankerstown, Bansha, County Tipperary; if he will state the facilities which will be provided to meet the needs of the children concerned; and if he will indicate when the work is likely to commence.

Tenders for the erection of this school are under consideration at present and it is hoped to place a contract for the work early in the new year. The school which will be centrally heated will have four standard classrooms, a general purposes room, a kitchenette and modern sanitary and lavatory facilities.
