From 1948 to-date the statutory instruments series does not include
(a) Statutory instruments required by Statute to be published in Iris Oifigiúil, and
(b) Statutory instruments exempted from publication by virtue of directions given by the Attorney General under Section 2 (3) and 2 (4) of the Statutory Instruments Act, 1947.
So far as statutory instruments referred to at (a) above are concerned, the time and effort involved in examining each copy of the Irish Oifigiúil from 1948 onwards to compile the information requested by the Deputy would not be justified. As regards statutory instruments referred to at (b) above the exemption directions given by the Attorney General may refer to a particular statutory instrument or to a class of statutory instruments. Accordingly, only the Departments concerned with the particular statutory instruments or classes of statutory instruments involved could supply the information required.
