Vol. 257 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Forestry Allowances.

21.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will furnish details of the travelling and subsistence allowances payable to (a) engineers, (b) foresters and (c) unestablished forestry employees employed by the Forestry Division of his Department in the form of a reply to a parliamentary question on 24th November, 1971.

Employees engaged on official business away from their headquarters may be paid their actual expenses of travelling and subsistence allowance within scales authorised from time to time and subject to certain other requirements.

As regards travelling expenses, public transport rates are payable where there is a convenient service available. Otherwise motor mileage rates are payable to employees who have been authorised to use their private cars on official business.

Is it possible for the Minister to let me have more detail, as he did on 24th November in respect of another case? The Minister has given me the general line but has not given me the information I sought.

If the Deputy means the actual rates, et cetera, I have those available.

Will the Minister let me have them?

I thank the Minister very much.
