Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway Estates.

8.

asked the Minister for Lands what efforts the Land Commission have made to acquire the McDermott estate, Springfield, Williamstown, County Galway.

Proceedings for compulsory acquisition of this 49-acre holding were instituted by the Land Commission some time ago and an objection lodged on behalf of the owner is pending for disposal.

9.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission had made any offer for the purchase of the estate of the late John Donlon at Killavoher and Timaduane, Clonberne, Ballinasloe, County Galway.

The Land Commission are carrying out a detailed inspection of this 61-acre property with a view to determining whether acquisition proceedings should be instituted. Their investigations are being hastened and it is expected that there will be an early decision in the matter.
