Vol. 257 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Public Conveniences.

134.

asked the Minister for Local Government the reason for the delay in issuing sanction for the erection of public conveniences at Market Street and the Square, Listowel, County Kerry; and the present position in the matter.

The technical aspects of the proposals received from Listowel Urban District Council for the erection of public sanitary conveniences at Market Street and the Square, Listowel, particularly relating to siting, have been the subject of examination by my technical advisers and I hope to be in a position shortly to communicate with the council on the matter.

135.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has received any proposals from Kerry County Council for the provision of a public toilet in Kenmare, County Kerry; and if so, the present position in the matter.

As I have previously indicated to the Deputy, the initiation of a proposal to erect a public sanitary convenience is a matter for the local sanitary authority. I have not yet received any proposal from Kerry County Council for the erection of a convenience at Kenmare.
