Vol. 258 No. 11

Written Answers. - Dublin-Kells Mail Car.

296.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs what compensation, if any, has been paid by his Department to a person (name supplied) who was injured when the Dublin-Kells mail car he was driving was hi-jacked in May, 1971; and what arrangements are made for the compensation of such drivers who drive vans hired by his Department to carry mail.

No compensation has been paid by the Department. Liability for the insurance against occupational injury of a person employed in the operation of a mail contract devolves on the contractor.
