asked the Minister for Education if there are any proposals before his Department for improving the school position in Ashbourne, County Meath.

It is proposed to add three classrooms and a general purposes room to the existing Ashbourne national school. It is expected that work on the new extension will commence in the financial year 1972-73. This extension when completed will cater for the immediate needs of the area. The question of providing new primary schools to meet the long-term needs of the area, is being kept under constant review.

asked the Minister for Education if it is proposed to commence work on Kilbeg national school, County Meath, in 1972.

The new national school at Kilbeg is included in the priority list for the financial year 1972-73. The Commissioners of Public Works are being requested to prepare working drawings as soon as possible.
