There is not an annual statistical series covering the information requested by the Deputy. For the year 1970 it is estimated that there were about 12,200 persons permanently engaged in registered hotels and guesthouses and that a further 7,600 persons were engaged on a seasonal basis. Corresponding particulars for the restaurant and catering sector are not available.
