asked the Minister for Justice if, in relation to examinations for appointment to the Garda Síochána, any concession for extension of the upper age limit is proposed for applicants who have served in the Defence Forces.

Under the provisions of the Garda Síochána (Appointments) Regulations, 1945, as amended, deductions up to a maximum of four years may be made from the actual age of applicants for the Garda Síochána who have served in the Defence Forces.
