Vol. 259 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Port Building Operations.

6.

andMr. M. O'Leary asked the Minister for Transport and Power if the undertaking given to him in regard to building operations in the port area of Dublin is being observed; and, if not, what building is in progress.

Undertakings given by me and by the Dublin Port and Docks Board that the board would comply with the obligations imposed by the Harbours Acts and by the Planning Acts in relation to development in the port area, are being fully observed. I understand from the board that at present there are four buildings under construction in the port area and that planning permission has been obtained in each case.

Can the Minister state if all the undertakings given are being observed?

I hope that the undertaking given by the Minister for Finance prior to the last election that the Government were accepting full responsibility is being observed.

Any undertaking I gave will be honoured because, in fact, the undertaking I gave was a Government decision.

The people are worried about whether it will be honoured.

I am calling Question No. 7.
