asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware of the major reorganisation of the Ministry of Commerce of the Government of Northern Ireland currently in train with the establishment within it of an Industrial Development Organisation and the appointment of new senior personnel to the Ministry; and if he will request the IDA to establish effective liaison with this organisation to ensure full mutual co-operation to create and maintain opportunities for full employment.

I am aware of the reorganisation of the industrial development operations of the Northern Ireland Ministry of Commerce to which the Deputy refers.
It is normal practice for the Industrial Development Authority to keep in touch with industrial promotion organisations elsewhere including those in Britain and Northern Ireland and they will continue to do so.
