Vol. 259 No. 15

Written Answers. - Retired Assistance Officers' Pensions.

84.

asked the Minister for Local Government when it is likely that retired assistance officers will be paid full pension for their period of temporary service.

I issued instructions to local authorities in March of last year on the reckoning of wholetime temporary service for superannuation purposes in the case of all pensionable officers, including assistance officers. The actual calculation or recalculation of pensions is a matter for each local authority concerned. Local authorities were requested to refer any difficulty arising out of the reckoning of temporary service to my Department.
