I propose to introduce provisions in future housing legislation to enable tenant purchasers of local authority houses to buy their ground rents. In the meantime I am prepared to consider proposals from local authorities who wish to sell the fee simple interest to tenant purchasers subject to reasonable conditions regarding price and the use of the dwelling as a residence.
