Vol. 260 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Tenant Purchase Scheme.

82.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is now in a position to confirm a purchase scheme for the tenants of Patrician Villas, Stillorgan, County Dublin, granting the same terms to the tenants of the 20 houses involved as to those in the other houses in the scheme.

This scheme has not been submitted for my approval. When a submission is made I will give my decision without delay.

Can the Parliamentary Secretary say whether he will give a favourable decision? He may not be aware that the problem in this case is that some houses were completed prior to January, 1966 and others in the same scheme were completed after January. The tenants regard themselves as all being entitled to the same consideration. Perhaps when the matter comes before the Parliamentary Secretary he will take that into account?

The position is that the Department did receive a draft proposal and they have sent it back to the county council to put before the elected members. When their decision on this scheme or whatever amendments they wish to make in it is received, the matter will be dealt with.
