Vol. 260 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water Schemes.

92.

asked the Minister for Local Government if the 21 houses at Coolelan, Rathangan, County Kildare, for which a supply of water from the Bracknagh group water scheme, County Offaly, is being sought, will qualify for the higher rate of grant.

This scheme is only at the preliminary stage and if it goes ahead it will qualify for the increased rate of grant, should the unit cost so warrant.

93.

asked the Minister for Local Government the present position regarding the Bawnafinney group water scheme, Blarney, County Cork.

This five-house mains extension scheme has been completed and arrangements are being made for payment of the final State grant of £60 at an early date.

94.

asked the Minister for Local Government when it is proposed to sanction payment of the grant for the Ballard group water scheme, Tralee, County Kerry.

The engineer engaged by the group is at present preparing a design for this seven-house scheme. Grants cannot be allocated until an acceptable design and firm costings are available.

95.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will consider making a further £12,000 available for the provision of an extra pipe from the source to the pump in the Ardfert water scheme so that an increased number of group water schemes can get a supply from that scheme.

This proposal was recently submitted and is at present under examination in my Department.

96.

asked the Minister for Local Government the present position regarding the proposed group water scheme at Toberroe, Glinsk, Castlerea, County Roscommon

The ESB have been asked to prepare a design for this group on the basis of 19 houses and a school participating in the scheme.
