Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Corporation Rents Dispute.

91.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has received any requests from the National Association of Tenants' Organisation seeking discussions on the rent strike; and, if so, if he will state his decision on the matter.

As indicated in my reply to the Adjournment debate on Thursday last any request for discussions about the rents dispute should be made to the local authority. I understand that Dublin Corporation in a recent letter to the tenants' association have indicated that they are willing to examine and consider any views on the weekly increase of 4p per room applicable to certain dwellings which the association may submit.

Surely the Parliamentary Secretary is aware that there is no longer any local authority in the city of Dublin? A former Minister for Local Government abolished it.

With the assistance of the Labour members and initiated and instigated by them.
