Vol. 260 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Traffic Lights.

100.

asked the Minister for Local Government the reason for the long delay in bringing into operation the traffic lights installed months ago at several bridges on the River Liffey in Dublin; and the amount contributed by his Department towards their cost.

The traffic light signals to which the Deputy refers are intended to form a linked system of control from Watling Street to Swifts Row. A decision on the bringing into operation of the system is a matter for Dublin Corporation. My Department approved the charging by the corporation of the cost, estimated at £28,000 against their grant allocation from the Road Fund.

There is no such thing as the Dublin Corporation.
