Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Wexford Schools.

30.

asked the Minister for Finance the present position with regard to the provision of a new national school at Clongeen, County Wexford which is urgently required.

Plans and specification for a new school at Clongeen, consisting of five classrooms and a general purposes room, have been prepared. On receipt of planning approval, which has been sought, bills of quantities will be prepared and as soon as they are ready tenders for the erection of the school will be invited.

31.

asked the Minister for Finance the present position with regard to the provision of a new national school for Marshalstown, County Wexford.

A contract for the erection of this school has been placed and work is expected to commence shortly.

We were told on Question No. 30 what the number of rooms would be. How many rooms will be provided at Marshalstown?

A tender for the erection of Marshalstown school was accepted on 19th April, 1972. The work comprises the provision of three classrooms, a general purposes room, a kitchenette and a teachers' room. The contractors are John Halpin and Sons, Tullow, County Carlow and it is expected that work will commence shortly and take about 12 months to complete.

So I take it it will be a three-teacher school?

Three classrooms. I have nothing to do with the teachers.

We were told on the previous question that there were five classrooms and we are now told there are three. Is this a Fianna Fáil three or a genuine three?

(Interruptions.)
