Vol. 260 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Insurance Inquiry Report.

61.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he has yet received the report of the commission of inquiry on insurance; and, if not, when he expects to receive it.

I have not yet received the report of the Committee of Inquiry into the Insurance Industry. I understand that the report on motor insurance is being written and I hope to receive it in July. I do not expect the report on other classes of insurance before late 1973.

May I ask how long the committee of inquiry have been sitting?

The Deputy knows that himself.

I have forgotten the date. May I ask how long the committee have been sitting?

He has asked often enough how long they are sitting and I was not the one who answered.

Would the Parliamentary Secretary answer me now? This is his duty as a Parliamentary Secretary.

The Deputy keeps asking questions that have been answered.

I shall ask again.

If he asks in three weeks time will I need to say the same thing? They were appointed in August, 1970, and they have had numerous meetings, and sub-committees were established in January, 1971.

It is two years.

The Deputy really did know the answer.

It is three months since I asked the question. I shall ask it again and I am entitled to ask it.
