asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he will give details of total expenditure during 1971 incurred by his Department on advertising promotional campaigns under the headings (a) Irish national newspapers, (b) provincial newspapers, (c) radio, (d) television, (e) English newspapers, (f) English television and (g) European newspapers.

My Department's expenditure on promotional advertising in 1971 amounted to £23,802. Of this sum, £6,225 was expended on advertising in the four Irish daily and two Sunday newspapers, £13,552 on advertising in the Irish provincial newspapers and £575 on RTE television advertising. The balance of £3,450 was expended on advertising in Irish periodicals and in Irish and British farming journals.
