Vol. 261 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bank Raids.

85.

asked the Minister for Justice the total amount of money taken in bank and other raids in which offensive weapons were used over the past four years.

Statistics compiled by the Garda provide this information only in relation to robberies in the course of which firearms were produced.

In so far as the period up to 30th September, 1971, is concerned I would refer the Deputy to the answer I gave to Question No. 143 on 4th November, 1971.

Particulars in respect of the period since 1st October, 1971 will be published in due course in the Crime Report of the Commissioner of the Garda Síochána for the year ended 30th September, 1972.
