Vol. 261 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Registry Delays.

95.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware that grave inconvenience is being caused to the general public as a result of delays in having folios written up-to-date in the Land Registry subsequent to change in ownership and that the delay appears to be due to a backlog of work in the indexing section; and if he will take steps to provide additional staff in order to eliminate the delays mentioned.

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that a back-log in the indexing section of the Land Registry, which was due to a general increase in the volume of work, has now been virtually cleared and that the position will be back to normal within a few days.
