Vol. 261 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Food Handling Regulations.

9.

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware that the regulations relating to the handling of food in retail shops are not being observed; and if he will advise the health boards to give urgent attention to the enforcement of these regulations.

I am not so aware. I am, however, aware that the number of inspections of food premises carried out annually in some areas is too low and I have drawn the attention of health boards to the matter and requested them to arrange, where at all possible, to have at least one inspection every quarter made of premises, stalls and vehicles engaged in food business.
