Statistics showing the number of non-contributory old age pensioners who are in receipt of home assistance are not compiled regularly. However, special returns of home assistance beneficiaries obtained from the public assistance authorities in respect of the week ended 30th January, 1971, included 2,837 cases of non-contributory old age pensioners.
