NOTES: (1) Lands taken over by way of exchange, surrender, etc., are not included in Column 5—there being no Purchase Money applicable in respect of such lands—but they are included in Column 6.
(2) Records are not kept on the basis of offers of land made to the Land Commission. The collection of this information would involve an inordinate amount of staff time and would not be justified. Figures dealing with offers of land for cash for the 2 years 1970-71 and 1971-72 have been extracted and are given in reply to another Question tabled by the Deputy today.
