I understand from the National Building Agency that they expect to enter into a contract for a scheme of eight houses at Ballinamore shortly. These houses are being provided by the agency at the request of the Industrial Development Authority to house industrial workers to be nominated by the authority. The agency have not received any request from the authority to build additional houses at Ballinamore.
Can the Minister state when construction of the eight houses will commence? I was in Ballinamore yesterday and work had not commenced on these houses. Can the Minister state the date of commencement and can he tell the House the name of the contractor?
The National Building Agency have not yet entered into a contract. The houses cannot be commenced until the contract has been completed.
