asked the Taoiseach if he will state in the form of a reply of 21st July 1971 the present hours of work and wages of forestry workers, road workers and farm workers.

The following statement gives for each county the present (a) basic weekly time rate of wages paid to forestry workers for a 41 hour week; (b) weekly rates of wages (excluding service pay) paid by county councils to road labourers together with the average weekly hours for the year as at 1st April, 1971, the latest date available, and (c) minimum weekly rates payable to adult male agricultural workers under the Agricultural Wages (Minimum Rates) Order, 1972. These rates apply to a 44 hour week in the period November to February inclusive and to a 50 hour week during the remainder of the year.
