Vol. 263 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Employment of Consultants.

52.

asked the Minister for the Gaeltacht if he will indicate the foreign firms of consultants employed by his Department and the amounts paid to such consultants to date over the past five years.

Níor fhostaigh mo Roinnse aon ghnólacht den saghas sin sa tréimhse a luaitear.

The remaining questions will appear on tomorrow's Order Paper.

I had some Special Notice Questions, with regard to the Atkins Report in connection with textiles, addressed to the Minister for Industry and Commerce. This is one of the most urgent matters facing midland areas for a considerable time——

The Deputy has been informed that the questions will appear on the Order Paper for ordinary answer.

I am aware of that but I would point out——

The Deputy may not point out anything further. That is the final word on the matter.

If I might ask a question——

The Deputy may not ask a question. I have told the Deputy that the questions will be replied to when they appear on the Order Paper.

At the present time the questions are down to the Minister for Industry and Commerce——

The Deputy may not raise the matter in this fashion. The Deputy should resume his seat. The Chair has informed the Deputy that his questions will appear as ordinary questions on Thursday's Order Paper. The Deputy should have some patience.

They will not be answered. This is an urgent matter and it affects most of the towns in the midlands——

That is not a matter for the Chair. Will the Deputy please resume his seat? The Deputy is being disorderly.

I am endeavouring to have this matter raised in the House at the earliest possible date.

Not in this fashion.

It is a most urgent matter. The position is worst at Portlaoise. It also applies in Tullamore.

Will the Deputy please resume his seat and stop acting in this boyish fashion?

I request that I should be allowed to raise this matter on the Adjournment tonight. It is one of the most urgent matters to be raised.

The Chair will consider the Deputy's orderly request. Will the Deputy please resume his seat now and allow us to continue with the Order of Business?

I again request that this matter be raised tonight on the Adjournment of the Dáil. It is important and urgent and I am not being in any way unreasonable.

I have already told the Deputy that I will consider his request. Will he please resume his seat?
