asked the Minister for Local Government if he will give particulars of proposals from Tipperary (South Riding) County Council at present with his Department relating to (a) housing, (b) water and sewerage and (c) roads; and when sanction will be granted in each case.

Particulars of proposals from Tipperary (South Riding) County Council at present with my Department relating to (a) housing; (b) water and sewerage, and (c) roads are as follows:—

(a) Housing

In so far as local authority housing is concerned, the proposals from Tipperary (SR) County Council before the Department are as follows:—

1. Acceptance of a tender for 60 house scheme at Cashel and loan application for £200,000 to finance the erection of the houses.

2. Application for a supplemental loan of £92,000 to finance overexpenditure on housing schemes in various areas.

3. Introduction of a house purchase scheme under section 90 of the Housing Act, 1966. The local authority have been requested to supply further information about the houses in the scheme to enable the scheme to be considered.

4. Applications have been received for improvement grants under section 24 of the Housing Act, 1966, in respect of 21 cottages.

(b) Water and Sewerage Newcastle Sewerage Scheme

Tender documents for this scheme are under examination.

Ardfinnan Regional Water Supply Scheme. Stage 1

Tender documents for this scheme are under examination.

(c) Roads

There are no proposals from Tipperary (SR) County Council awaiting sanction.

Decisions on the proposals set out at (a) and (b) will be issued as soon as possible.
