I have under active consideration the question of the extension of the training period for primary teachers, in conjunction with other recommendations made by the Higher Education Authority. Until these deliberations have been completed, I will not be in a position to make a statement in the matter.
Does the Minister intend to provide a course for primary school teachers which will lead to a degree?
This whole matter is under consideration at the moment.
We will have to wait for a change of Government to get that.
If so we will be waiting for a very long time.
