asked the Minister for Transport and Power if he will make a statement on the future intentions of his Department concerning the operations of the duty-free shop at Cork Airport in the context of developing EEC regulations.

Proposals for regulations governing duty-free sales at airports to intra-community travellers are at present under examination by the Commission of the EEC., in consultation with the member and acceding states. Pending the outcome of this examination no change in the existing arrangements at the Irish airport shops is envisaged.
