Vol. 263 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions Oral Answers. - Supply of Fuel Oil.

54.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that some lessors of building sites for private houses are inserting in the building leases a covenant which obliges the purchasers of houses to enter into an agreement with a particular firm for the sole supply of heating fuel oil and as such a provision is apparently in restraint of trade and contrary to the public interest, if he will take steps to invalidate the practice.

I am aware of the situation referred to by the Deputy. I have asked the examiner of restrictive practices to investigate it and I understand that he is doing so.
